Memorandum to 5J and 5G

A meeting was called by Mayor Rozgoni on March 17th 2020 at 3PM in the sports complex Moalboal, the mayor was unable to attend in person as she is in self-quarantine in Cebu, however, she addressed the attendees by speakerphone briefly. The contents of both Executive Orders were read by municipal officials.

Following the reading it was announced that all watersports would be suspended from March 20 2020 until April 2nd 2020, this includes, but is not limited to, boat diving and island hopping. We will be permitted to shore dive only if the following conditions are strictly adhered to;

  1. groups of 4 divers only, plus 1 guide
  2. shore access in front of your property only
  3. no traveling to dive sites by boat, car, multicab, tricycle etc
  4. the operator is responsible for enforcing social distancing in and around the dive center
  5. the operator is responsible for providing a sanitary equipment area for all guests and staff
  6. the operator is responsible for taking necessary steps to maintain the cleanliness of equipment

Breaking the rules will result in this concession being removed for all dive shops in Moalboal

It should be noted that this concession provides diving operators with a valuable opportunity to keep some level of operation running during this very difficult time, as mentioned above, any abuse of this, or breaking of the rules will likely have this concession removed.

It is important to keep in mind the overall objective, which is to keep the likelihood of transmission as low as possible. If our actions are seen to go against this the only sensible recourse will be to shut our operations down, let’s work together to prevent that.

Another topic raised, all guests arriving in Moalboal must have a Municipal Health Declaration Card, they should report to Moalboal tourist office to collect this card on arrival, and should report to the office if they become unwell.

Attendees were presented the following during the meeting
